BUTLER — Mary R. Betz Christlieb, age 86, of Butler passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at her daughter's home in Charlottesville, Virginia. Mrs. Christlieb was born on Aug. 22, 1929 in Wawaka, Indiana, to Elmer and Elma (Taggart) Biddle. Her first husband was Lyston Betz, the father of her children. Her second husband was Otis Gilbert Betz and he passed away in 1982. She then married Dale Christlieb and he preceded her in death in 2003. Mrs. Christlieb was a hairdresser and owned and operated the Cut and Curl on Willow Street in Butler for 30 years. She also worked for Universal Tool in Butler for 12 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Butler Church of Christ on Oak Street in Butler. She was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Butler where she served as past president, Auburn Moose Auxiliary, Auburn Elks Auxiliary and the Business Professional Women's group in Butler. Mrs. Christlieb was an avid bowler in leagues at the Butler Lanes over the years. She was a very good bowler and even bowled perfect 300 games on several occasions. Survivors include a son, Terry Betz of Palm City, Florida; a daughter and son-in-law; Janie and Phil Grussing of Charlottesville, Virginia; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jack Biddle of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Charles and Deloris Biddle of Kendallville; and a sister, Katheryn Blanchard of Wakarusa, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Lyston Betz, Gilbert Betz and Dale Christlieb; two brothers, John Biddle and Robert Biddle; and two sisters, Patsy Keller and Marie Leins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., in Waterloo. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Scott Lanning of the Butler Church of Christ will officiate at the service.
