MARY BRIGID CORRIGAN, 58 CHICAGO - Mary Brigid Corrigan, 58, passed away unexpectedly of an aneurysm on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, IL. Brigid was born on March 23, 1957 to Robert L. and Elizabeth J. (Sullivan) Corrigan in Freeport, IL. She graduated from Aquin High School in 1975. Her education continued at Edgewood College in Madison, WI and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. During this time she received a Rotary Scholarship for further study in Galway, Ireland. Brigid loved theatre arts and was involved for years in many local theatre productions. She moved to Chicago to work as a business manager at several theatres and later worked at Metropolitan Limousine, fulfilling many roles. Brigid loved her family, friends, cooking, Chicago, The Cubs and "Higgins." She met the love of her life, Joe McKermitt, and they have enjoyed many happy years together. Joe and his wonderful family and all her dear friends were a very cherished and important part of her life. She is survived by her mother; brothers, Bob and John Corrigan; sister, Kate (Bob) Stroup; nieces and nephews, Bridget, Jessica, and Garrett Stroup, Patrick Corrigan; aunt, Katheryn Lowe (CA); and numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, in addition to many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
