Homegoing Celebration For Our Beloved

We are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Mary Taylor on June 5, 2024, in Roanoke City, Virginia. Born on November 16, 1952, Mary was known for her quick wit, infectious laughter, and love for helping others.

Mary was the daughter of Kurt Harris and Catherine Anderson Cooper. She is survived by her four children: Teresa Anderson, Robyn Anderson Adams (spouse Oriens Adams), Terri Anderson, and Augustus Anderson (spouse Hope Bouseman). She also leaves behind five grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

During her younger years, Mary attended Roanoke City Public Schools, where she was known for her mischievous pranks and love for learning. After high school, she started working at Colony House and eventually retired in 2002.

Mary had many hobbies, including babysitting for her grandchildren, taking care of dogs, and always lending a helping hand to those in need. Her sense of humor and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, Mary would have wanted donations to be made to the local animal shelter in her memory. Rest in peace, Mary, and may your laughter continue to brighten our days from above.
