Mary Elizabeth Hutchins, 84, of Bardstown, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016, at her residence. She was born on June 5, 1931, in Bardstown, to the late Joseph Lee and Gertrude Spalding Brown. She was a former employee of Lily Tulip and a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, William Alfred Hutchins; a grandson, Norman "Tink" Stump; a brother, Thomas Brown; and a sister, Rose Ann Goodwin.Survivors include three daughters, Nora Stump and Patsy (J.M.) Mercer, both of Bardstown, and Donna (Chris) Hutchins Newton, of Holy Cross; three sons, Greg (Debbie) Hutchins, of Elizabethtown, Philip Wayne Hutchins, of Bardstown, and Al (Sandra) Hutchins, of New Haven; two sisters, Florence (Ezra) Parrott and Dorothy (Vernon) Ludwig, both of Louisville; two brothers, Charles Brown of Clarksville, Ind., and Joseph (Joan) Brown, of Sellersburg, Ind.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.A Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, May 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church with the Rev. Jeff Hopper celebrating. Interment will be in St. Thomas Church Cemetery.Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. with prayers at 7 p.m. at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home.Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
