Mary Ellen AndersonMANSFIELD: Mary Ellen Anderson, 91, of Mansfield passed away Monday, May 29, 2017. She was born on June 5, 1925 in Lucas, OH and raised on "Henry Homestead Farm" on Gladden Road. She was the daughter of Ora and Mary Ellen (Wilson) Henry.Mary Ellen graduated from Lucas High School in 1944. She worked at Tappan Company on Wayne Street during the war until service men returned. She was a Home Economist at Wayne Street, and later moved to National Headquarters in Ontario with a test kitchen for engineering development, microwave, quality control, sales department and Tappan cookbooks with twenty nine years of service until they closed in 1987. She was very active in softball, bowling, golf and crafts. She was a member of Tappan Quarter Century Club, Secretary of the T.M.B.A, Tappan Girls Club since it started in 1965, Baku Grotto Auxiliary, Grotto Camping Group, she volunteered at Med-Central Hospital now OhioHealth Mansfield since 1989, R.S.V.P, Lexington Senior Civic Club, Captain of the Neighborhood Watch, and Secretary of the V.F.W. 7651 Ontario since it formed in 1993. She enjoyed cooking and crafts and was known in the neighborhood as "Anderson Bakery". She was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church.She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Ellen (Allen) Moore; grandson, Thomas Allen (Brianna) Moore; two wonderful great granddaughters, Alexis Moore and Alyssa Moore (her pride and joy); sisters-in-law, Marian Henry and Carol Henry; brother-in-law, Dr. John Anderson of Euclid; many nieces and nephews; wonderful neighbors; and many friends.Preceding her husband, Charles "Tom" Anderson, sixty one years of wonderful life together in 2008; daughter, Diana Lynn Anderson in 1967; a grandson, Jonathan Moore in 2008; parents, Ora and Mary Henry; father and mother-in-law, Rollin and Esther Anderson; brothers, Roy Henry, Robert Henry and Wayne Henry; and a sister, Corabell Motson.The family will welcome friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the funeral home with services by Rev. Bonnie Peltomaa.
