Mary Carter-Hill, 88, of Elyria, Ohio, passed on May 22, 2021. Mary was born on April 19, 1933. Mary grew up on Diagonal Rd. in Lagrange, Ohio. She attended elementary school (Hamilton) and graduated from Elyria High School with the Class of 1951. She was an equestrian who loved horseback riding, reading, and was a member of Doubleday book club for over 50 years (A bibliophile). She enjoyed walking, doing cross-word puzzles, listening to gospel music, and writing poetry. Her poem entitled "Portrait of God" was given recognition and her poem "Lord, I Love Thee" was published in The New American Poetry Anthology- John Campbell was the Editor and Publisher, she also wrote a play Titled "A New You" which was performed by the Senior Choir under the direction of Mary Ellen Hill and Lenford Nelson. Mary got saved in 1955 and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church for 66 years and also was a member of Starlight Choir. President of (Senior & Women's Choir) and a member of the Trustee Board, and the Vice President of Bethany Baptist Women's Ministries Card Secretary for the Mission. The best thing that ever happened to her is when the Lord came into her life, each day became a learning experience. Feeding her face was a recreation, enjoyed eating "out" at all of the restaurants that were in the area and the ribs at Great Nothern was her favorite. Mary is proceeded in death with George W. Hill (Husband), Jacqueline Joy Hill (Daughter), Benjamin Carter (Father), Mattie Carter (Mother) Grandson 1(deceased), 10 siblings which includes 5 sisters and 4 brothers with Pastor Wayne (Velma) Carter (Brother) still living of South Carolina. Mary E. Hill is survived by Tony (Son), Bosco (Son),13 Grandchildren Karla, Chistopher, Michael, and a special friend of the family Delores.
