Mary Ellen RaderJune 29, 1920 - November 13, 2016BREMEN - Mary Ellen Rader, 96, of Bremen, passed away at 10:50 am, Sunday, November 13, 2016 in the We Belong Senior Care Home of Plymouth. Mary was born on June 29, 1920, the daughter of the late George and Gertrude (Miller) Shafer. On October 2, 1941, she married Kenneth D. Rader. He passed away on December 5, 2009. She is also preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Mary is survived by four children; Sue (George) Schmitt of Phoenix, AZ, Sally (Larry) Preece of Sykesville, MD, Rosalie Rader of Bremen and Donald (Phyllis) Rader of Arvada, CO. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mary was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Bremen and is currently a member of the Bremen United Methodist Church, where she was an active lifetime member of the United Methodist Women. She worked as a secretary for Marshall County Farm Bureau for over 30 years. She may also be remembered as a tour guide at Amish Acres, which she enjoyed doing for 25 years. Her love for her family will be missed along with her wit and humor. Her love for the Lord was part of her very being. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and endeavored to make the Lord known to those around her. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, November 17, 2016 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St. Rd. 331, Bremen. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 18, 2016 in Bremen United Methodist Church, 302 W. Plymouth St., Bremen, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Rev. Charles Krieg will officiate. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bremen United Methodist Church.
