Mary Frances Dewar, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 25, 2017 at home surrounded by her children.She was born on June 12, 1928 in Anderson, IN to Katherine and Francis Ryan.Frances grew up in Muncie, Indiana. She graduated from Burris High School in 1946. After high school she attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana where she met and married James A. Dewar of Chicago, Illinois. They were married forty-one years.Frances is survived by her children, Kathy (Mike) Cullison, Debby Dewar, Karen Miller, James P. Dewar, Kelly (David) Scripp; grandchildren, Matt (Candace) Blackburn and Thomas D. Miller; great-grandchildren, Gus Scripp, Madeline and Parker Blackburn; and brothers, Thomas Ryan and John Smith.Frances was preceded in death by her husband, James Dewar, her grandson, Parker T. Miller and her sisters, Adele Wingate and Suzanne Tyner.Frances will best be remembered as being a warm, open-minded, and light-spirited person with a great sense of humor.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Great Lakes Collaborative for Autism, 2040 W.
