Mary Frances White “Mae” the beloved daughter of the late William H. Dixon and Irene Bennett-Dixon. Born November 20, 1950 in Hamilton, NC peacefully departed June 9, 2019 in Bridgeport, CT surround by the love and comfort of her family.
In 1965 at the age 15 Mae moved from Williamston, NC with her mom Irene and siblings to Stamford, CT. She graduated from Stamford High in 1968, In 1972, she worked as a Secretary for IBM. “Mae” was the happiest when it came to cooking and having her family around. She was the second youngest of four sisters and three brothers. She will be missed deeply by many who had the opportunity of knowing her.
Left to cherish her memories she is survived by her daughter Kyanshe White, two sons Schaune Dixon and Eric White; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchild; daughter-in-law Dorothy Dixon, two brothers, William H. Dixon Jr, Allen R Dixon; two sisters Beulah Peele, Margaret Brawley, and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Antoinette Dixon, Brother Clayton Bennett, and two Sisters Dorothy Dixon & Fannie Crowell.
Friends may greet family on Tuesday, June 18th from 11:00am-1:00pm. A Home Going Service will proceed at 1pm at Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06604. Tel: 203.334.9999.
