Mary (Larimore) GerriettsGREEN VALLEY - Mary Virgina Gerrietts, 96, of Green Valley, IL, passed away at 1:44 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2017, at Autumn Accolade.Mary was born on January 17, 1921, in Kirkville, IA, to Elston Eugene and Alta (Pickerell) Larimore. She married Raymond H. "Pete" Gerrietts on May 11, 1940, in Green Valley. He passed away on November 13, 2007.Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Larry Gerrietts; one grandson, Scott Gerrietts; three sons-in-law, Duane Curry, Jerry Canada and Thomas Hill; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Gerrietts; five brothers; and four sisters.Surviving are three sons, Dale of Springfield, Ronald (and Ria) of Urbana, IL, and George (and Vivian) of Green Valley, IL; three daughters, Darlene Curry, Susan (and Joe Birky) Hill and Mary Ann Canada, all of Green Valley; daughter-in-law, Sharon Gerrietts of Pekin; sixteen grandchildren, Geoffrey (and Ann), Greggory, Darren (and Miriam), Isaac (and Jenny) and Lee (and Amy) Gerrietts, Jason (and Kelly), Jim, Jenny (and Donny Davis) and Jeri Canada, Joshua (and Xuan) and Jed (and Casey Connett) Hill, Deb (and Alan Smith) Curry, Dina (and Greg) Janssen, Julie Stear, Marcie (and Bill) Lindsey and Stephanie (and Brian) Lutton; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.Mary was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Green Valley, where she was a Sunday school teacher and MYF sponsor for many years and she served as the first female president of the church board. She was a member and past president of the United Methodist Women and served on the UMW District Board as a board member of Cunningham Children's Home in Urbana, IL. She was a former member of the Tazewell County Home Extension. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and working in her garden. She was the eldest and last surviving of ten children.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church in Green Valley, with the Rev. Will Meachum officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 10, at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Drive, Pekin. Additional visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the church.
