Mary J. (Allshouse) Cassatt, age 78, of Davis Road in Pine Creek Twp., passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016, in the comforts of her home, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born on August 22, 1938, in Brookville, PA, to the late Theodore Z. and Anna Marie (Deemer) Allshouse. She was married to James Gilbert Cassatt Sr., who preceded her in passing in April of 2002. After Mary's time spent in school, she went to work for the Brookville Fast Freeze and later she was employed by Fairbrook in Brookville. Eventually she took a position with Owens Illinois in Brookville and after 28 years of dedicated work, she was able to retire. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a past member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Brookville, PA. Early on in her marriage to James, they enjoyed traveling together. As her family grew, their priorities and life became clear as they raised and loved their children. She would love to go camping with the whole family and many memories were made by spending time out under the stars. As the children grew she found joy in doing some things for herself including, shopping and spending time at the casino in Salamanca. She was never selfish, she loved her family, and they will miss her dearly. Mary is survived by 2 daughters; Teresa (Kenny) Caldwell of Sigel, PA; Sheree Pierce of Brookville, PA; 2 sons; James G. (Amy) Cassatt Jr., of Sigel, PA; Eric (Loretta) Cassatt Sr., of Alexandria, VA; 8 grandchildren; Lisa, Jason, Jessie, Angela, Corey, Janae, Brittany, Eric Jr.; and 4 great-grandchildren; Easton, Ganen, Donovin, and Noah. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary is preceded in death by 6 brothers and 1 sister. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, November 3, 2016, from 2 - 4pm and 6 - 8pm, at the McKinney - d'Argy Funeral Home, ltd, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA, 15825. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016, also at the funeral home, beginning at 11:00am, and officiated by the Rev. J. Ray Baker. Interment will take place at the Butler Cemetery, Pine Creek Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
