Mary Jane was born in Walker County on March 6th, 1943 to Edwin "Baby" Roark and Vennie Mae (Anderson) Roark. She was one of six children. She married Charles Harvey Bartee and together they had three children.
Charles Wesley, Cherry and Pamela. First and foremost in her life was her faith and being a follower of Christ.
She served her Lord and Savior by serving in the church and the community. She never said no. She has served in nearly every capacity possible and always went above and beyond to give her very best effort to the Lord. She was also a dreamer, but unlike most, she worked tirelessly to see her dreams come to fruition. Many have been impacted by the fruits of her labor and will forever be grateful for her vision. As the world lost a kind, gentle and caring soul, Heaven gained an angel who will have the biggest crown filled with the most stones. We love you Momma/Mammaw and are looking forward to the day we see your beautiful face again!
Mary Jane is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Cherry and Tommy Gattis and Pamela and Thomas Irby; sister Evelyn Bennett; brothers and sisters-in-law Edwin, Jr., and Jackie Roark, Robert and Mary Roark, Jodie Roark and Gary and Beverly Roark; grandchildren Kyle Bartee (Lisa), Jessica Bartee, Garrett Bartee, Casey Gattis (Tori), Dalton Gattis, Hannah Gattis, Matthew Raddin (Shannon) and Elliott Raddin; great-grandchildren Aubrey, Ethan, Josey, Wesly, Faith, Greyson, Hayven, Emerson, Aria, Noah, Marilyn and Landyn; numerous nieces and nephews, and a whole slew of great friends.
