Mary Jo LancionePORT CLINTON: Mary Jo Lancione, 80, passed away peacefully from complications of PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) on February 26, 2017 at her home on Catawba Island in Port Clinton, Ohio, where she was surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband John to whom she was married for 59 years, her four children and her eleven grandchildren: Lisa and Reece Fabbro; Cathy, Jenny, Joey and Nick Tamarkin; John, Anne, Elizabeth, Peter, John Paul and Evelyn Lancione; Jenny, Olivia, Frankie, Mary Jo and Nicole Murino. She will be remembered with love and gratitude by those who cherished her.Mary Jo was born on September 15, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio to Rose and Joseph Battaglia. She was the oldest sister of four and spent a happy childhood with siblings Sarah DeMaioribus (2006), Pauline (Ray) Feudo, and Joseph (Kathy) Battaglia. She graduated from West High in 1954 where she was a member of The Coquettes! After high school, she attended Ohio University where she met her husband John. They were married in 1957. This July would have marked their 60th wedding anniversary. Mary Jo's greatest joy was spending cherished times with her children, grandchildren, sisters, friends and many loved cousins all over the Cleveland area. She will be remembered as the life of the party, a great dancer, a lover of people, an avid reader, a wordsmith, a world traveler, a great storyteller, a generous friend, and for her heart of gold. The love of her life was her husband John. They spent the last ten years enjoying each other's company at their home on Lake Erie where all of their children and grandchildren spent countless summers and holidays with them. Mary Jo is preceded in death by her father Joseph and her sister Sarah DeMaioribus.A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday March 1st, 2017 at 10:30AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452.In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Cure PSP, Foundation for PSP | CBD and Related Brain Disorders (
