Mary L. Carter-Bishop, was born February 8, 1940 to the late Mannie and Addie Murphy Carter, in Camden South Carolina.

At a very early age, Mary migrated from Camden, South Carolina to Brooklyn, New York, where she met and married the love of her life, Olis Robert Fitzgerald-Bishop. To this union, five daughters and one son was born. She was a member of the Pentecostal House of Prayer, Brooklyn, New York under the late Bisop Luther Dingle.

Mary was devoted to the Lord and her family. She served on the Pastor’s Aide Board and was a member of the renowned gospel group The PA Singers.

Mary was proceeded in death by her husband, Olis Robert Fitzgerald-Bishop, daughters Carolina Bishop, Lisa Bishop-Marrow, Vera Bishop Moore-Wright and son Daryl L. Fitzgerald. She leaves to carry out her legacy and cherish her memory her loving and committed daughter and caregiver, Lorraine Bishop Marshall, (Camden, SC); and daughter Sheila Bishop,(Syracuse, NY). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 6 great great grand children.

She is also remembered by a wide berth of neighbors, church members and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
