Mary LonowskiMary Elizabeth Lonowski, 20, of Ellensburg, Washington, passed away on September 5, 2015. She was born on November 21, 1994, in Davenport, Iowa, to Douglas and Dale (Greer) Lonowski.Mary was prepared to begin her junior year at Central Washington Universitythis fall, where she was working toward a bachelor's degree, majoring in Nutrition and Spanish with aspirations of studying abroad and becoming a dietitian. She graduated from Ellensburg High School with the Class of 2013. Throughout her school years she was active in sports and student government and excelled academically. She was very involved in 4-H, first learning to sew and bake, and later raising lambs to show at the Kittitas County Fair. Mary also enjoyed working at the Kittitas Valley Memorial Pool as a lifeguard and swim instructor.Mary loved the simple things in life like reading a good book, spending time with family, hanging out with friends, trying new recipes, piecing together puzzles, strumming her guitar, playing a friendly game of tennis or Monopoly, and tooling around town in her yellow VW Beetle.Mary is survived by her loving family: parents Doug and Dale, sister Kimberly, and brothers Eli and Thomasof Ellensburg, Washington; paternal grandparents Myron "Mike" and Agnes Lonowski of Shenandoah, Iowa; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the country. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Merle and Marjorie Greer of Harlan, Iowa.A Rosary Service will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, September 11,at the Steward & Williams Tribute Center, with Visitation and sharing from 4:30 to 7 p.m.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew's Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 12. Luncheon will follow. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
