Butts, Mary LouButts, Mary Lou (Derwish)Age 71, of Pine City, NY passed away on Aug. 16, 2017, surrounded by her devoted family. She was born on Nov. 1,1945 in Elmira, NY to the late, Thomas Derwish & Kathryn Drake Stanton. She grew up in Elmira, was raised by her father, grandmother, Mary Derwish; and aunt, Sara Derwish. Her surviving family includes; loving husband, Michael Butts; sons, Michael Butts Jr. Elmira; Scott Butts, Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Sandra (Richard) Kreh , Atlanta GA; Melissa (Mike) Mattison, Elmira; sister, Carolyn Goedel, Elmira; grandchildren, Annette Butts, Elizabeth Butts Paguio, Mike Butts III, Thomas Butts, Haley Kreh, Bryce Mattison, Alexa Kreh, Preston Mattison, Owen Kreh and seven great grandchildren. Mary Lou has five loving nieces and five loving nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Sandra M. Derwish Glidden and Judith Ann Derwish Whetsel. Mary Lou was a 1963 graduate of Southside High School. She had an amazing sense of humor and a great love for her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She married her high school sweetheart and best friend, Michael on January 30, 1965 at Trinity Church in Elmira, NY. Mary Lou was an Auxiliary member of the Harry B. Bentley, NY Post #443. The family would like to say thank you to the Arnot Health 5D staff and the doctors for the loving caring that was giving to Mary Lou and nurse Curtiss for being there for us at the final hours. Guests will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport/Elmira, NY 14904 on Sun. Aug. 20, 2017 between the hours of 2-5 p.m. Funeral services will take place there on Mon at 10 a.m. Graveside services will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery
