Our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mary Kathleen Lowery, passed away on December 11, 2016, at the age of 87. A long time resident of Brunswick, Maryland, Mary was born on June 10, 1929 in Martinsburg, WV. She was the daughter of Joseph and Evelyn Bradshaw, also of Martinsburg, and the sister of Joseph H. Bradshaw and his wife, Shirley. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Gerald H McAllister Sr.; and George W. Lowery, Sr. Also surviving are her five children, Gerald H. McAllister Jr. and his wife, Deborah; George W. Lowery, Jr. and wife, Susan; Phillip R. Lowery and wife, Cheryl; Terry L. Lowery and wife, Brenda; and Cheryl Lowery Brown, and fiancee, Darren Showe. She left behind seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, all of them whom she loved dearly. Mary Kathleen was affectionately known as a "social butterfly." She worked at several local businesses in Brunswick until her retirement. At that time, she began volunteering at the Brunswick Senior Center delivering meals to those who were unable to leave their homes. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed spending time preparing family meals on most Sundays and traditionally made Christmas candy. Aside from her family, she enjoyed dancing at the local Moose and Eagle clubs. Her favorite bands were Spectrum and Hocus Pocus. She leaves behind many friends in the Brunswick area and most recently at Vindabona, her home during her final years. Viewing hours with be on Wednesday, December 14th from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. The family will welcome visitors from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the John T Williams Funeral Home, also on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday December 15 at 11 am followed by burial at Park Heights Cemetery. Memorial Contributions are being accepted at Faith Baptist Church, General Fund, at 2212 Jefferson Pike, Knoxville, Maryland. Professional services have been provided by the John T Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick.
