Mary M. Vigil, 96, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at Vida Encantada Nursing Home in Las Vegas.She was born on July 7, 1917, in Chaperito to the late Francisco Lovato and Julianita Gonzales.She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend.She worked as a seamstress at the Jayval Parachute Factory, NMHU and at the Hillcrest Restaurant in her earlier years. She loved to crochet, sew, garden, cook, dance and design clothes, she was very creative.She was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Julianita Lovato; husband, Cristobal Vigil; infant daughter, Juanita Vigil; son, Cristobal "Libby" Vigil; granddaughters, Veronica Castillo and Shirley Sena; all her sisters, Fulenzia, Michaela and Dominga.She is survived by her daughters and son, Priscilla "Percy" Quintana of Modesto, Calif., Leo Vigil and wife, Linda, of Las Vegas, Beatriz Vigil of San Leandro, Calif., Adelina Vigil and companion, Alex, of Berkeley, Calif., Sally Almanzar and husband, Dionicio, of Las Vegas; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Diana Romero; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Rosary services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with funeral mass to follow at 10 a.m. with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant.
