Mary Hazel Norris Haga, 79, of Bedford, died Wednesday, November 23, 2016. She was born on March 16, 1937, in Boone County, NC, a daughter of the late Dennis Fleet Norris and Eula Combs Norris. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Burl Norris; brothers-in-law, Jack Campbell and Robert Rouse. Mary was a member of Bedford Baptist Church, the Nannie Bland David Circle, and a retired pre-school teacher who dedicated her life to educating children at Terryland Nursery School, Otterburn Academy, and Main Street United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Telsie Charles Haga; son, Lamie Haga and wife Pam of Columbus, GA; daughters, Leigh Anne Carroll and husband Barry of Bedford, Sandra Jones and husband Nelson of Amherst; grandchildren, MaryAnn Jones and husband Dr. Kyle Meikle of Washington, DC, Holly Jones of Charlottesville, Dennis Haga of Asheboro, NC, Chelsea Foust and husband Jordan of Highpoint, NC, Laura Leigh Haga of Columbus, GA, Sarah Anne Carroll, Nelson Carroll, Lamie Carroll, Emily Carroll all of Bedford; great-grandchildren, Mary Beth Foust, Braxton Foust, Bethan Meikle-Jones; brother, Bill Norris and wife Wilma of Chesterfield; sisters, Betty Campbell of Chilhowie, Irma Lee Reedy and husband Charles of Manassas, Carolyn Rouse of Gainesville, GA, Dr. Martha Norris of Rural Retreat, Beverly Eason and husband Mark of Abingdon; sister-in-law, Eileen Norris of Bristol, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
