Mary Pauline Bradford, 94, of Clovis, NM, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016, at Retirement Ranch. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Grady Cemetery, with Pastor Rick Hankins officiating. There will be no visitation.Pauline was born on July 19, 1922 in Bellview, Curry County, NM. Her parents, Charley and Lucy Woods, homesteaded 35 miles north of Clovis, in Grady. She had fond memories of growing up in Grady. Pauline loved school and her classmates. After graduation, she attended business school and excelled in shorthand. She lived briefly in Berkley, California with her Aunt Mae before getting married to Leonard Bradford on August 21, 1943. Leonard and Pauline moved to Texas, Leonard's home state, while he worked in a dry cleaning establishment and learned the trade. After about a year, they moved back to Clovis and opened Scientific Cleaners, which they owned and operated together for 43 years. Pauline's sister-in-law, Betty Bradford Jackson, worked beside them in the business doing the seamstress work for most of those years. In 1982, Leonard passed away. Pauline and Betty ran the business alone for several more years.Pauline was always very active in her community. She was an officer in her High School Class, from 1939 to 1940, President of the PTA in 1961 and an active officer in her TOPS Club. Pauline was a very active member of the West 21st Street Church of Christ. Pauline's love of children was one of her best assets. She taught bible preschool for many years and was a great blessing to many people. She also delivered Meals On Wheels and was a Senior Companion for several years. Pauline was always there to help when needed and would never say no.Some of Pauline's favorite pastimes include; playing cards, reading, and visiting with friends. She never passed up a card game. Pauline was a great-friend and wonderful mother. You could always count on her for a laugh and a smile.Survivors include: her daughter; DyAnn Markey (John Mueller) of Phoenix, AZ, two brothers; Jimmy Woods (Margie) of Grady, NM and John Woods of Portland, OR, sister-in-law; Betty Jackson of San Angelo, TX, and two grandchildren; Britt Markey and Tye Markey.
