Mary Rita Williams, age 93, of St. Augustine, passed away peacefully on Dec. 2, 2016, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring with her family by her side. She was born on Oct. 17, 1923, in Chicago, Illinois, to John and Helen White. She grew up in Chicago and moved with her family to West Palm Beach, Florida, at the age of 17. Rita lived most of her adult life in Central Florida. She worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for Key Scales Ford in Leesburg, Fla., for 18 years and later for Nick Nicholas Ford in Inverness, Fla., for eight years. In 1990, she moved to the Ocean Gallery Resort in St. Augustine. She was a longtime member of Anastasia Baptist Church and worked as bookkeeper for Anastasia's Childcare Ministry for many years. She was currently a member of Crescent Beach Baptist Church. More than anything, Rita was a devoted Christian, a loving wife, and ""The Best Mom and Grandmother in the Whole World."" She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Robert ""Bob"" Williams of St. Augustine; daughters, Marsha Shultz (Brad) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sally Crawford (Lenwood) of Cairo, Georgia, Helen Viola (Andrew) of St. Augustine, Rita Thompson of Chicago, Marcia Williams of Charlottesville, Virginia; sons, Stephen Havron (Robin) of Titus, Alabama, William Havron, Jr. (Bobbi) of Newland, North Carolina; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Dean White and Bud White. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, at Crescent Beach Baptist Church with Dr. David Beauchamp officiating. A visitation, beginning at 5 p.m. will precede the service. Committal services and interment will follow at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
