Mary Sieber SentellJuly 19,2017Mary Sieber Sentell, 85, died on Wednesday, July 19th 2017, at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers, surrounded by her family. Mary was born on the Fourth of July, 1932 to Mildred Viola Floyd and Thad Gates Watkins, in Cedar Bluff, Mississippi, and was raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. Mary was united in marriage to Jay Homer Sentell on June 6th 1952, and they moved to Fort Myers in 1958. Over the course of their marriage, Mary became the proud mother of four beautiful children, Jaynene, Jerri, Scott and Carla, and she and Jay enjoyed an active social life with their many friends. Mary worked for the Fort Myers News-Press and Barnett Bank until she retired in 1994, and enjoyed spending time after retirement with family and friends. She is survived by three of her children, Jerri Hendry and husband Richard of Fort Myers, Florida, Scott Sentell and wife Emma of Lady Lake, Florida, and Carla Reublin and husband Christopher of Fort Myers, Florida, as well as her five grandchildren, Marie, Amy, Samantha and Violet, and her great-grandson Charlie. She was preceded in death by her husband Jay, her daughter Jaynene and her loyal and beloved dog Lola. Funeral services will be held graveside at the Alva Cemetery on Sunday July 23 2017, with family and friends in attendance. The Harvey- Engelhardt Funeral Home is responsible for all funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Hope Hospice of Fort Myers in Mary's name.
