Mary Sowder, of Hallett, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2024, at the age of 79. She was born on February 17, 1945, and lived a life filled with love, compassion, and unwavering strength. Mary will be remembered for her gentle spirit, infectious laughter, and love for the simple joys in life. She was a devoted Wife, Sister, Mother and Granny, always willing to lend a helping hand and bring light into the lives of those around her. Mary's legacy of love and generosity will continue to be cherished by all who were blessed to know her. Mary was met in heaven by her parents Robert and Mabel Tatum; Siblings Yvonne Tatum, Margaret Corley, Orie Tatum, Johnny Tatum, Margie Carmack, Leon Tatum, and Robert Tatum; Daughter in-law Loretta Brazeal and Grandson Steven Sowder. Mary is survived by her Husband Robert Sowder; Sister Joyce (Lee) Antrup; 8 children, Danny (Becky) Brazeal, Robert Brazeal, Ivan Brazeal, Michael Brazeal, Lisa (Justin) Brazeal-Hagan, Kenny (Stephanie) Brazeal, Thad (Michelle) Sowder, Kim (Mike) Sowder-Kurtz; 19 Grandchildren, Robert Brazeal Jr., Nicole (Trevor) Nuttall, Tyler (Amanda) Brazeal, Cody (Brooklynn) Brazeal, Whitney (Kevin) Scharer, Heather Brazeal, Jason Brazeal, Michael Brazeal, Kassy Brazeal, Devan Cagle, Cody (Kayli) Brazeal, Kevin (Meztli) Brazeal, Taylor Brazeal, JJ (Monica) Hagan, Cody (Becka) Hagan, Aaron (Sara) Sowder, Cody Sowder, Jacob Sowder, Matthew Sowder, Kristin Sowder, Jacob Sowder and Amanda Sowder and 35 great grandchildren and many more friends and family.

Service will be held in Nowata at 1pm Saturday June 15, 2024.
