Mary Elizabeth Thomas, born January 27, 1927, to the late Thomas and Wilma Mae  Youmans, departed peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2018, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Mary was 91 years old and a member of Sanctuary Baptist Church, Philadelphia, P.A. After retiring from the State, Mary became a foster mother for the City of Philadelphia. Mary’s heart and home were always open to the community. Mary enjoyed sitting on her porch with her pipe and talking to everyone. Mary’s pride and joy where her grandchildren she was also known as the “Mom of Philly” or “Grandma of Philly”.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 21st at Sanctuary Baptist Church.
