Mary Margaret was born on June 2, 1925 in Brooklyn, New York. Her parents Marie and Louie Kirchgessner came to America from Germany in the early 1900's. After growing up in Brooklyn, Mary Margaret married and had 9 children. She was an educated, well-read woman, with a BA in English Literature from UTEP, but more importantly a woman of faith, courage, strength and compassion. Mary Margaret never missed an opportunity to celebrate life and was always there when someone needed her. She was a true friend and confidant to many as well as an advocate for all her family. Mary Margaret went peacefully to heaven the morning of April 10, 2017. Her family and friends celebrate her 91 years and will continue to carry her in our hearts. She will be greatly missed by all. Mary Margaret is preceded in death by her son Henry. She is survived by her five daughters Denise, Anne, Mary, Cathy and Maggie; her three sons Peter, John and Paul; her daughter-in-law Brenda, five sons-in-law Denis, Dave, Jason, Art and Kevin; her three granddaughters Dana, Mary and Sarah; her nine grandsons John, Luke, Mark, Matthew, Jesse, Jared, Derek, Bryan and Devin; her seven great granddaughters Molly, Chloe, Lily, Olivia, Kate, Gretchen and Cecelia and her seven great grandsons William, Edward, James, Robert, Wyatt, Henry and Simon. A memorial mass was celebrated in her honor on April 12, 2017 at All Saints Catholic Church, Dallas, Texas. Her ashes will be interred at Mepkin Abbey, Moncks Corner, South Carolina at a later date.
