'TIP' MATILDA SCHNEIDER, 81 LENA - "Tip" Matilda Schneider, 81, passed away peacefully with her family and pastor by her side at FHN Memorial Hospital on Thursday, August 8, 2013. She was born on July 3, 1932, to John and Vallie (Griswold) Golden in Witt, IL. Tip married Owen Schneider on December 24, 1951, in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Nokomis, IL. Tip was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Sprague-Inman Post 577, she enjoyed playing cards and enjoyed preparing snacks at bible school, delivering meals on wheels, going mushroom hunting, and taking bus trips. When her grandchildren were in high school she enjoyed attending their sporting and scouting events. She was an avid fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder and the St. Louis Cardinals. Tip is survived by two daughters, Lorene (Kevin) Solace of Lena, IL, and Vallie (Ken) Ockerman of Stockton, IL; 3 grandchildren, Heather (Jeremy) Clifton of Oklahoma City, OK, Drew (Kayla) Solace of Winslow, IL, and Autumn Ockerman of Stockton IL; 4 step-grandchildren, Tonya, Shawn, and Lindsay Ockerman, and Stacey (Kevin) Green, all of Greenville, TN; two great-grandchildren, Madyson and Alexzandyr Clifton of Oklahoma City, OK; one step great-grandchild, Keelee Green of Greenville, TN; two sisters, Bernice Block of Wauconda, IL and Nancy Holst of Camp Lake, WI. Tip was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, John Dee, Robert, Charles and Edward; sisters, Annie, Millie, Hazel, and Norma Jean. Funeral will be held at Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 12, 2013. Visitation will be held at Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2013. Pastor Miranda Klosterboer will officiate.
