Matthew Rutledge, 37, of Euless, Texas, passed on January 18, 2021.
Matthew was born on August 16, 1983 to David and Jaye Rutledge. He was a laid back baby, much like he was as an adult, and quickly rose through the ranks, landing the top spot as Mom's secret favorite, where he would remain.
As a child, Matthew spent countless days and late nights on the baseball field. During the countless really late nights spent under the lights strung high across the backyard, that lit up the homemade pitchers mound and batting cage, Matthew learned the importance of dedication and hard work, and also that neigbors don't necessarily share the same level of enthusiasm for the game of baseball.
As a child and teen Matthew gained the loyalest of friends, who today call him brother, and who's children call him Uncle.
Matthew made a life of working with his hands. Whether he was working on homes with his dad, or HVAC systems throughout his career, or handyman projects for his sisters and mother, you could count on two things: Matthew would be there, and he would most certainly be late.
Although Matthew's life was short in years, it was full of love for and from family and friends who became family.
Matthew is preceded in death by his father David Rutledge, Sr., his brother, David Jr., and his trusty dog of 15 years, Aries.
Matthew is survived by his mother: Jaye Rutledge, his siblings Jayme Rutledge, Tiffany Drane (John Drane), his nephews: Brennan, Dawson, and Rourke, lifelong friends, many cousins, aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 beginning at 3 p.m., at the home of Jayme Rutledge in Bedford, TX. Please call or text 469-708-0291 for an automated message containing the address.
