She also was blessed to see her 4th generation Grandkids Logan Carr, and Malani Powell.

Mattie Wilson was also blessed with her own angel Leslie Thomas. Leslie provided Mattie Wilson with love , joy and comfort until the end. Leslie children, Jacqueline Thomas , Tamara and Camara Thomas, Nastassia Broussard, Kaiden Ryans and Leon Jackson also brought love and laughter to Mattie.

After a long and fulfilling career, Mattie retired from her work at V/A Hospital in 2007. Her dedication to caring for others was evident in all aspects of her life.

When she wasn't working, Mattie enjoyed spending time with her family and indulging in her passion for cooking. She could often be found pursuing her hobbies of cooking, gardening, browsing antique shops, and exploring thrift stores. She had a passion for finding unique treasures and creating delicious meals for her loved ones. Her culinary skills were a source of joy for not only her family but for others in the neighborhood.
