Mattie Mae McNeil, 73, of Richmond, Virginia, passed on May 23, 2023 in her home. Mattie was born on March 25, 1950 in Florence South Carolina to the late Annie Mae and Gerald Dean McNeil.

At an early age, Mattie dedicated her life to the Lord. Her giving spirit and devotion to Christ could always be felt by anyone who crossed her path. Mattie treasured time spent with her children and grand children. Family was very important to her always.

Mattie was educated in the Florence South Carolina school district and attended Richmond Community College which she received a degree as Certified Nursing Assistant. Prior to her retirement from MCV Hospital, Richmond VA in 2012, she received numerous certificates and awards for her service. Although retired she never stopped working.

Mattie was proceeded in death by her parents, Annie Mae and Gerald Dean McNeil; three brothers Gerry McNeil, Dean McNeil III and Dustin McNeil. Also preceding her in death are five sisters; Denise McNeil, Barbara Ann Mcneil, Julia Mae McNeil, Ella Mae McNeil and Lodie Law McNeil.

To cherish the memory of Mattie; her brother Jason McNeil and sister Darlene McNeil. Also to cherish Mattie's lovely memory one daughter Lisa McNeil and two sons Jackson McNeil and Matthew McNeil and three grandchildren; Melissa, Bryan and Courtney. Special nieces and nephews; Willette Allen, Georgette Irby, Mary Mitchell, Xavier Smith and Daniel Mitchell and host of cousins, church members, family and friends.
