Maureen Treacy Duffy, age 66, passed away peacefully at her home in Austin, surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 4, 2019. She was born March 28, 1953, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, to Edward and Priscilla Treacy. Maureen spent nearly 40 years of her life working and raising a family in the Weymouth area before moving to Austin, TX in 1992. Maureen truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: playing with and caring for her grandchildren, cooking for friends and family, and spending time with loved ones. Maureen was a devoted mother, and is survived by her children: Matthew Duffy (and his wife, Corry Duffy) and Julia Treacy Dzubinski (and her husband, Jason Dzubinski). She was a loving daughter and sister, and is survived by her mother, Priscilla, and her siblings: Arlene Treacy-Montgomery, Dianne Sproul, John Treacy, Mary Treacy, and Stephen Treacy. Maureen was preceded in death by her father, Edward. Maureen’s greatest joy late in life was being a grandmother to her four grandchildren: Mary Aspen Dzubinski, Eli Duffy Dzubinski, Sullivan Duffy, and Calvin Duffy. Maureen was a caring aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, and a dear friend to many others. Memorial contributions may be made to Brookdale Hospice Austin.
