“A wife, a mother, a grandma too, this is the legacy we have from you.”

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maurice Caples, who was born on April 15, 1950, and peacefully left this world on June 21, 2023. Maurice was a beloved member of the Kenner, Louisiana community and will be sorely missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Maurice was a woman of many talents and a true pillar within his community. She was a loving wife, a caring mother, a doting grandmother, and a dear friend to many. Her warm smile, compassionate nature, and witty sense of humor brought joy and comfort to all those around her.

Born and raised in Kenner, Maurice had a deep-rooted love for her hometown. She took pride in being actively involved in her community, always lending a helping hand and spreading kindness wherever she went. Whether it was volunteering at local charities, organizing community events, or simply being a listening ear for those in need, Maurice was always there, making a positive impact and bringing people together.

Maurice had a keen passion for nature and the great outdoors. She spent many weekends exploring the swamps, rivers, and forests that surrounded her beloved hometown. An experienced angler, Maurice found solace and tranquility in fishing, often inviting friends and family to join her on her excursions. Her love for the environment was evident in her commitment to preserving and protecting the natural beauty of Kenner and its surrounding areas.

Aside from her dedication to her community and love for nature, Maurice found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had an infectious laugh that brightened any room he entered, and his enthusiasm for life was truly contagious. Whether it was cooking extravagant meals for her loved ones, cheering on her favorite sports teams, or engaging in lively discussions about current events, Maurice always lived life to the fullest.

Maurice's legacy lives on through the countless memories and meaningful connections she made throughout her life. She leaves behind her cherished husband of 45 years, Murray Caples, their three children, Murray Caples Jr., Shistoya Caples, and Samone Caples. She adored grandchildren, Myrian Caples, John Caples, and Caitlin Caples. She also leaves behind a community that she helped build and nurture. Maurice is now reunited with her parents, John and Mary Caples, and her siblings, who have gone before her.

The impact that Maurice has had on the lives of those who knew she is immeasurable. The world has lost a truly remarkable individual, but her memory and the lessons she imparted will forever remain in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of crossing paths with her.

A celebration of Maurice's life will be held on July 1, 2023, at Kenner City Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Hospital, which was dear to Maurice's heart.

May Maurice Caples rest in eternal peace, knowing she made a profound difference in the lives of so many and left behind a legacy of love and kindness.
