Maurine McDaniel, "MiMi", age 80, passed away to her heavenly home, on October 7, 2016 in Nacogdoches Texas. She was born on November 4, 1935 to Peter Minx Rhodes and Mary Estelle Reed Rhodes. She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Elizabeth Acker and Teresa Tapley; Four brothers, Joseph Rhodes, Pete Rhodes, and Dan Rhodes, and James Rhodes. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Rev. Edwin McDaniel; two sons, William Edwin, Jr. and wife Janice of Crosby, Texas, Phillip Wayne and wife Wendy of Nacogdoches, Texas ; also survived by her three grandchildren Dana W. McDaniel Britton and husband Dana of Garrison, Texas, Nicholas McDaniel and wife Erika of Crosby, Texas, Sarah McDaniel of Crosby,Texas; three Great Grandsons Aidan and Sean Britton, Oliver McDaniel and three special great nieces, Chloe, Callie, and Chelsea. She was a faithful minister's wife for 45 years. She loved music and sharing her faith through singing and playing the piano and organ. She never had any training in music, but sang and played by ear, a true Gift from the Lord. She was a wonderful homemaker and was lovingly devoted to her two sons and husband. Maurine lived a life that was a true reflection of Christ. Visitation was Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athens. Funeral service was on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Larue Methodist Church.
