Max Delano Crosen, Sr., age 86, of Berkeley Springs, WV, died on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.
Born June 13, 1933 in Unger Store, WV, he was the son of the late Raymond Stanley, Sr. and Nora Glenna Kerns Crosen.
He was a member of Wesleyan Chapel. Max attended Great Cacapon public schools. He retired as a machinist with the CSX Railroad. Max worked with Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown, MD. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, chopping wood and spending time with his family.
Max is survived by his wife, the love of his life of 67½ years, Leona Mae DeMoss, at home, his children, Diana Mae Bowman & spouse, Harold Bowman of Hancock, MD, Max Delano Crosen, Jr. and spouse, Bonnie Crosen of Berkeley Springs, Brian Keith Crosen and spouse, Julie Crosen of Martinsburg, WV, one brother, Robert Stanley Crosen, Jr. of Winchester, Va, six grandchildren, Meilana Ostrowsky of Scottsville, VA, Mandy McAlexander of Inwood, WV, Mathias Crosen and spouse, Karla Crosen of Berkeley Springs, Katie Ann Crosen of Winchester, VA, David Crosen and Isabella Crosen both of Martinsburg, WV, 21 great grandchildren, including 3 that cherished spending every weekend with him, Alexis Kiara Crosen (Sunshine), Berkeley Springs, WV, Memphis Delano Crosen, Berkeley Springs, WV, and Kambri Saleen Crosen (Special K) Berkeley Springs, WV, 5 step grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Max was preceded in death by four sisters, Dorothy Fogle, Margaret Taylor, Mary Kirch, Linda Akers, two brothers, Raymond Larry Crosen and Albertus Crosen.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV, with Rev. William C. Swope officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Cross Junction, VA.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
