MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Max Hinson Hance, 88, of Mooresville passed away on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, following a period of declining health. He was born on Dec. 24, 1928, in Lancaster to the late William G. and Beulah H. Hance. Max was a U.S. Navy Veteran. After returning from his service, he worked at Burlington Industries for more than 47 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy W. Hance, and brothers, George W. Hance, Iya Boyd Hance, J.T. Hance and Odell Hance.He is survived by his children Mary J. Hance of Mooresville, Bonnie H. Rollins and husband, Mitchell, of Marshville, N.C., and Edward D. Hance and wife, Candace, of Myrtle Beach. Also surviving are his brother, Carl W. Hance; sister Bernice Melton; and grandchildren, Cameron Hance of Orlando, Fla., and Ty Hance of Myrtle Beach.The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Feb. 1, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville. A graveside service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at Salisbury National Cemetery with full military honors. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, is serving the Hance family.
