Max Travis HendrixMax Travis Hendrix, known affectionately by all who knew and loved him, as "PawPaw Max", was born on Sept. 6, 1925 to Carl and Mae Hendrix. He entered into his eternal rest on June 6, 2017 at the age of 91.He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred; his parents; a brother, Malvin; and nephew Terry.Max is survived by 2 daughters, Wanda Freedman of Baton Rouge, and Marsha Walker & husband Randy of Bernice; a sister, Carleen Madix & husband Keith of Bernice; 3 grandchildren: Tiffany McGuire of New Orleans, Jason Walker & wife Stephanie of Bernice, and Jamie Smith & husband Bob of Waller, TX; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; 4 nephews, and 3 very special caregivers, Nicole Levingston, Jackie Hunter, and Jo Welch. He also leaves a host of friends. Max was a WWII Navy Veteran having served his country in the Pacific Theater. He was a retired chicken grower and cattle farmer. He loved working with his cows until he was physically unable to continue. He was a man of few words with a huge heart. He dearly loved his family and was dearly loved by all.Funeral services will be June 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Weldon Baptist Church near Bernice, LA with Bro. Harve Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow at the Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery near Hico, LA under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Thursday evening at Weldon Baptist Church.Pallbearers will be Wayne Busby, Dean Busby, Eddy Lee, Reagan Walker, Brian Harris, and Steven Madix.
