Maxine Kay Lee, age 98, of Perkins, Oklahoma, went to her heavenly home October 19th, 2023. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2023 at the Moore Funeral Home Chapel, Moore, OK. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Moore, Ok.
Maxine was born March 24, 1925 near Tryon, Oklahoma to Virgil and Amy Ruth White. She married Eugene Alan Lee May 18, 1935 in Winfield, Kansas. They had two children, Sandra Adams and Robert Lee.
Maxine enjoyed being a homemaker and ran a daycare out of her home for many years. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and knitting. After no longer taking care of children in her home, Maxine spent all her free time working in her sewing room. Her projects included working on various quilts and afghans that she lovingly gave to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maxine’s family attributes her long life to her spunk, stubbornness and the Chuck Norris Total Gym that she used for exercise well into her 80's. She was also known for her cooking. It was not uncommon for there to be two bowls of sweet potatoes on the table since Robert liked them one way and Sandra another. She would cook anything you wanted at any time. Maxine was thrilled when her first grandchild, Austin Ray Kirby, came along and soon followed by two beautiful granddaughters, Shauna Kay Hoover and Donna Fey Bingham. There were no rules at Grandma's house. She was the type of grandma that would get on the floor and play or push you around the backyard with the riding lawn mower in neutral. You never knew or sometimes didn't want to know what adventures the grandkids were up to while at Grandma's, but they always came away happy.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the caregivers and their families that made it possible.
