1926 ~ 2016Maxine Ruff Record, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend returned to the love of her Heavenly Father on December 15, 2016. Maxine was born on August 5, 1926 in Los Angeles, California to Lyle Calderwood and Emma Elizabeth Porter Ruff, the oldest of four children. She married her eternal sweetheart and "darling", David Longshaw Record on January 18, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple.Maxine was a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ and a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and touched many lives through her callings in the Church, giving endlessly of her time. Many were the recipients of her delicious meals and her famous sour cream cookies. Her family was the most important thing to her. She loved her "darling" David with all her heart and has missed him terribly since his passing in May of this year. Mom and Dad were the perfect example of the love that should exist between a husband and wife and we know that their reunion was glorious. We will never forget all that they taught us. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joys. We will miss seeing her amazing smile and feeling her warm embrace each time we came to see her. The wisdom and love she gave to each of us will never be forgotten.Mom is survived by her children, David (Patricia) Record, Michael (Nanon) Record, Susan (Ronald) Oldroyd, Barbara (Dave) Rufener, Kelly Humphreys (son-in-law), her sister Shirley Jones, Kenneth Minson (brother-in-law) and Janet Janke (sister-in-law). Mom has 25 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren on the way. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her daughter Christine, her parents, her brother George Ruff, her sister Dorothy Minson and a great-grandson, Archi Oldroyd. We want to give a special thanks to our angel caregivers of the past several months, Jolene, Heather and Beckie of Solstice Hospice Care for their loving and tender care to our mother.Funeral services will be held Monday, December 19, 2016 at noon Imperial II Ward, 2735 South Filmore Street (1450 E.).
