MAXINE RUTH BROWN Maxine "Mickey" Ruth Brown peacefully passed away on July 16, 2017 at Twin Oaks in Chico where she had resided for the last year and a half. Maxine was born on May 22, 1927 in Sandpoint Idaho to Beatrice (McRae) and Haze Allen, and graduated from Moscow High School (Moscow, Idaho). She met Vernon Victor Brown in Spokane, Washington while he was in the U.S. Navy and they were married after his discharge on March 12, 1946 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They lived in northern Idaho, then moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1956 to raise their three daughters and son. In 1972, they moved to Hamilton City and have resided there since then. Mickey loved meeting new people and going places. She had a full life with many interests over the years. She played violin in a community symphony orchestra, enjoyed travelling and fishing, was a member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolu-tion) and served for many years on the North Valley Services Board of Directors. She and her daughters had a booth at the Orland Craft Fair for over 20 years where she exhibited her skills in knitting, crocheting, sewing, and loved to make stuffed animals. She worked for Cal Farm in Hamilton City for several years, then for Casa Lupe Restaurant for another 17 years until 1999 when she finally retired at the age of 72. She is survived by Vernon, her husband of 71 years; her two daughters Lynda Crowe (Robert) of Georgia and Caryn Brown (Gary) of Orland, and her son Timothy Brown of Hamilton City; two grandsons Michael John Crowe (Melissa) of Tennessee and Robert Michael Crowe (TaLisa) of Georgia, and three greatgrandchildren, Helen, Daysi and Sammy. She was predeceased by her daughter Becky Richlie (John). Per the family's request, there will be No Services at this time. Remembrances may be mailed to F.D.
