Mazie Ann Peterson, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away after celebrating our Lords birthday on December 26, 2022, at the age of 93. Mazie was born on May 26, 1926 in Pomeroy, Ohio. She attended school in Bidwell, Ohio.
She was a beautician during the day and worked the ticket booth at the Lincoln Theater on Long Street in Columbus, Ohio which is now an historical landmark. This is where she met the love of her life, Jasper while he was patrolling as an army guard from Rickenbacker. Lots of love, laughter and travels were
shared between the two over the course of their 63 year marriage. Together, they had four children: Larry, Carlita, Linda and Jeffrey.
Living on the army base she loved bowling and became a member of the PWBA, Women’s Bowlers Hall of Fame. In 2020 Mazie received an accommodation from the Governor of Ohio for the oldest living member of Old Oaks. Maize was employed with General Motors in which she worked for 26 years before retiring.
Mazie was a dedicated and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved road trips (especially the yearly trips to Gallipolis, Ohio for the Emancipation celebration), and spending time with family and friends. She will be profodndly missed by those that knew and loved her.
Mazie was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper; her parents, Jerry and Lydia Nuby; sister Gloria Simpson; brother, Linden Nuby; nephew Jeremiah Simpson (Buzzy) and grandson Alex Arnold.
