Outside of academics, he had a love for sports and music. He was an avid basketball and football player and enjoyed dancing in his free time. His musical talents were admired by many, and he often found solace in playing his favorite tunes.

McGarland will always be remembered for his kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for his family. He had a way of making everyone around him feel special and valued. His children were his pride and joy, and he dedicated his life to providing them with a bright future.
