Melba Blalock Rose - SAVANNAH - Melba Blalock Rose, 93, of Savannah and widow of Guy Rose, passed away Thursday, November 17th, 2016 at Memorial Health University Medical Center. She was born on December 1, 1922 in Manassas, GA, the daughter of the late Melton and Mattie Blalock. Melba was a longtime member of Faith Primitive Baptist Church in Savannah. She worked for Gottleib's Bakery. She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers, Alvin Blalock, Leonard Blalock, Aaron Blalock and Edward Blalock; and sister, Carolyn Rogers. Survivors include her daughter, Dianne Squire and her husband, Rich; son, Ricky Rose and his wife, Maureen; two sisters, Rona Wilkes and Wyndol Smith (Clyde); sister-in-law, Paula Blalock, and six grandchildren, Joe Foster (Tally), Christie Foster, Kristy Wexler (Paul) Dan Squire (Teri), Rob Squire and Ryan Squire; five great grandchildren, Tyler Foster, Justin Foster, Addison Wexler, Brooks Wexler, Drew Wexler and Drew Squire. The family will receive friends from 2 pm until 4 pm, Sunday, November 20th, at Baker McCullough Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 21st, at 11:00 am, at Faith Primitive Baptist Church, 3212 Bee Road, Savannah, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Savannah.
