Melissa Fargo, 32, of Mohawk, New York, passed on May 03, 2023. Melissa was born on May 15th, 1991 to Rodney and Melinda Schaffer of Ilion. Melissa was a graduate of Ilion High School in 2009. Melissa graduated LPN school from Herkimer BOCES in 2015 and was working to obtain her RN degree. She was employed by the Masonic Care Community for 15 years prior to her passing. Melissa was married to Matt Fargo on June 20, 2015, they shared almost 15 wonderful years together. She was the mother of Matthew Fargo Jr and Harlee Fargo, her kids were the center of her life and she loved every second she had with them.

Melissa was someone who enjoyed laughing and having fun. She was known for her "potty mouth" and quick sense of humor despite the occasion. She was always trying to make people laugh even if they were having a rough time. Melissa was usually known as the person who would say what she was thinking and was known to be honest and outspoken.

Melissa is survived by her parents, Rodney and Melinda Schaffer of Ilion; Her loving husband Matt Fargo and their two children Matthew and Harlee Fargo; brother Rodney Jr and wife Shana of Frankfort and her niece and nephew, Harper and Waylon Schaffer; Best friends Lindsay Coffin of ilion and close cousin and friend Samantha Schaffer of West Winfield; as well as her paternal grandfather Rodney Schaffer and maternal Grandmother Jean Suiter; and several aunt, uncles and cousins that she shared many valuable memories with during her life. Melissa was predeceased by her paternal grandmother Geraldine Schaffer and her maternal grandfather Donald Suiter.

There will be no funeral services in honor of Melissa's wishes and a celebration of life will be held to also honor her wishes.
