Melissa M. ZietzMelissa M. Zietz, 67, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, with her loving husband by her side Sunday, May 31, 2015, at her residence.She was born on June 24, 1947, to the late Walter E. and Alice (Smith) Wember in Waukegan, Ill. She was educated in Kenosha and graduated from Tremper High School. On June 18, 1971, she married Dennis Zietz in Carson City, Nev.Melissa enjoyed baking, gardening, collecting antiques, biking, fishing with her cane pole, camping, canoeing and feeding the birds. Melissa loved the outdoors and spending time with her family.Melissa was an industrious lady with a sewing career that spanned 40 years beginning with sewing clothes for her children. She soon began selling childrens clothes as well as beautiful ladys dresses, blouses and camisoles in a local shop in Sacramento, Calif. After she moved back to Kenosha with her family she began to sell at numerous craft shows and local shops. Eventually forming Melissa & Co. Her creations included soft sculpture dolls, apple head dolls, appliqué quilts, Christmas stockings, teddy bears, and especially Santa's, adored by so many that she was fondly known by many of her collectors as the "Santa Lady." She will be missed by many. Melissa is survived by her loving husband Dennis; her loving children, Cara Zies of El Paso, Ill., and Wayne Zietz of Racine; and her brother Carlton Wember of Florida.A Celebration of Life for Melissa will be held on Friday, June 5, at 7 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials would be appreciated to Hospice Alliance.
