Mr. Melvin Boatwright the son of the late Clarence and Reatha Boatwright, was born on August 20, 1959 in Colleton County, South Carolina.

In our reflection of Melvin, we remember him being extremely caring and had great love for his family. On Saturday, March 23, 2019, God called him into his eternal rest.

He leaves to cherish his memory,his children, Emma Sutter (Michael), Tawana Boatwright both of Brooklyn, NY, five sisters, Betty Brandenburg (Joseph) of Orangeburg, SC; Annie Boatwright, Perlie Simpson (Nathan) of Walterboro, SC, Lucinda Boatwright of Charlotte NC; four grandchilren, Tyrec, Tionne, (BabyGirl), Tahmari Sutter and Skylar Little (Red Button) all of Brooklyn, NY; special thanks and recognition to the late Anna 'Mammy' Robinson for raising and being a mother figure to the Boatwright family.
