We are saddened to announce the passing of Melvin Heard, who was born on June 9, 1945 and peacefully passed away on June 19, 2024 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Melvin had a fulfilling career in the military, where he dedicated his life to serving his country with honor and distinction. He was a devoted soldier who exemplified bravery and patriotism in all that he did.

He possesed a servant spirit in the community, church, and with everyone he interacted with. Melvin leaves loved ones Kevin Heard, Darryl Heard, Michael Heard, Greshun De Bouse, Richard De Bouse, and others, and was preceeded in death by loved ones James De Bouse (two months prior), Brenda De Bouse, Geraldine De Bouse, Opal Hooks (a month prior).

Melvin touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty, and will be deeply missed by all who know.
