Melvin  (Big Joe) Youra was born in Dinkelsbühl, Germany to his loving parents Ester Lavigne and Melvin Youra Sr. He moved when he was 14 to Ontario, Canada where he met his young bride Daphne Winkle at their local deli and they were inseparable since. Married by 17, Daphne and Big Joe started their family outside of Durham, Ontario where they spent their 68 years of marriage by each others side up until Daphne's health had Melvin outlive her just shy of 4 weeks. They are united again in time after death with 2 of their four children (Robert Youra and Sandra Parker) and mourned by their 2 remaining (Silvia Spoon and Patricia Jacobs). Melvin leaves behind his younger sister Judith, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one newest great-great grandchild all across the United States and Canada. Due to the familys request, there will be a private viewing Sunday afternoon followed by an open celebration of his life at Garden Brook Banquet Center Sunday evening. A final farewell back home Monday morning at will be closed to the public to accommodate for Melvins large loving family and close friends.
