Melvin Lee Arrington, son of the late James Thomas Arrington and the late Tempie Lou Arrington, was born on Aug 7th,1950 and departed this life on April 1st,2018 at Nash Healthcare, Rocky Mount, NC.

Melvin was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Arrington and Stanley Arringto; brother-in-law, John Evans; and two nephews, Shannon Arrington and Jahmel Dale.

He was educated in the Nash county public school system until age 16 where he began his career in farm work until falling ill on Sept 23rd, 2017 and forced to retire. He always enjoyed family and fun times with friends playing his guitar. He spent his final days at home with his loving wife of 41 years.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife Bettie of the home, mother inlaw Betty Moore,Rocky Mount NC,  one daughter LaQuay Applewhite (Charles) Nashville,nc, one son Dwight Arrington Nashville nc, two adopted children Joshua Dales(Latrice) Nashville,nc and Latonya Battle Battleboro,nc Granchildren Dwight Leonard, Mykia Jones, Samariyah Hinnant(Demontray), Jeminye Lynch, Asher Shade, and Charles Applewhite Jr, three great granddaughters, Sisters Gloria Anderson (Bob), Lorraine Evans, Robin Hines(Bossie), and Alethea Arrington, Brothers Ronnie Arrington (Lillie) and Willie Arrington (Rosa), and host of aunts,uncles, and other relatives and friends
