Melvin PiattMelvin Lee Piatt, 78, of Pataskala, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Pataskala Oaks. He was born on August 19, 1939 in Charleston, WV. Melvin was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his loving wife, Lavonne B. Piatt; sons, Mark, Matt (Angie) and Steve (Michelle) Piatt; grandchildren, Christina (Christopher) Garlewicz; Brittany, Travis, Zach (Olivia), Austin, Hana and Emma Piatt; great-grandchildren, Camryn, Dylan and Elliott Garlewicz and sister, Sylvia Dawn Francis. Memorial visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH 43062. Memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Phil Duncan officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd., Newark, OH 43055 in Melvin's memory.
