Michael Alex Brown Obituary

Jul 11, 1949 - Aug 21, 2023

This obituary is administered by:

A Life Well Lived

Born on July 11, 1949, in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He was the oldest of three children.

Michael received Christ at an early age while attending Union Evangelistic Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Curtis Hiram Melson

Michael attended Bloom Township High School in Chicago Heights, graduating in June of 1967. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on June 26, 1969, serving as a Jet Engine Mechanic in Vietnam. Michael's tour of duty lasted four years.

Michael Brown filed the room with his infectious laughter. He was known to bring joy, long-winded conversations, and a winning lottery ticket everywhere he went. To know him, was to know that he loved hard; he loved God, he loved his family, and he loved serving his country. He would give you his all and he would give you his last, especially to his two nieces, lol.

Mike will be remembered for his famous, "Awe, Yeah." When talking to his nephews he always ended his conversation with, "Jack" and his infamous gumbo soup that he would make!

He was a soldier throughout his life fighting known and unknown battles we could only speculate from a distance. More than a fighter, he was conqueror, overcoming life's challenges and his own limitations, which we all have, to find victory in his relationship with God. He sought God as his deliverer, and he found him. Not knowing that these victory medallions will outlast and outshine any armed service badges of honor he could have ever received. He has now been pinned by the Most High. Mike Brown - well done, soldier, you fought the good fight of faith and you won!

Mike relocated to his eternal home on August 21, 2023, at the age of74. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Joanna Harden, his stepfather: Mr. Thomas Harden and four uncles: William, Paul, Jimmy and Lawrence; four aunts: Jamie, Coretta, Pauline and Algene.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sisters: Pamela (Melvin)Parker of Crete, Illinois and Paulette Harden of Oaklawn, Illinois; one stepbrother: Thomas Harden Jr of Zimmerman, Minnesota; his most treasured and loved cousin: Lawrence Anthony Brown, Jr. of Matteson, Illinois; two nieces: Briana (Christopher) Beaty of Marietta, Georgia and Melanie Parker of Arizona; four nephews: Jerrell Underwood of Lynwood, Illinois, Malcolm (Kaitlyn) Parker of Palatine, Illinois, Kendall Harden of Champaign, Illinois and Nicholas Harden of Denver, Colorado; two great nieces and six great nephews, one uncle: Leonard Brown; two aunts: Linda Goodloe and Evelyn Brown and a host of beloved cousins, family and friends.

You can to the family or in memory of Michael Brown .
