We are saddened to announce the passing of Michael Boen (Mick), who left this world on May 1, 2024 in Denton, Texas, United States. Born on October 29, 1955 in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Sammy and Barbara Boen. Michael lived a life full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Michael married his wonderful wife, Janice Caviness on June 6, 1980. Together they raised two wonderful children.
After graduating from Roland High School in 1974, he served his country with honor as a SGT in the United States Air Force for 4 years leaving with an Honorable discharge. He then went on to serve the city of Fort Smith, Arkansas as a police officer for 2 years. His commitment to his work and country was truly admirable. Michael dedicated himself to his work at GMB/Exide Battery for 10 years after that.
He was guaranteed to make you laugh. He had a joke for everything and everyone. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His contagious laughter, warm smile, and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Mick is survived by his wife Janice, 2 children, Amanda Boen (Andrew) and Keith Boen (Kaelyn), two grandchildren Kash and Kassidy. His brother Keith (Teresa), 2 nieces, 4 great nieces, and 2 great nephews. He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, and one great niece Allison Boen.
Rest in peace, Mick. We will remember you always with love and laughter.

Met Micky years ago and have some great memories of our visits. We had several times to be with Micky, Janice and the kids and the times were always fun and spiritually inspiring. He definitely will be missed. May God raise your spirits for the time that you had with him. Dennis and Susie Davis

I’m going to miss Mick. He used to call me out of the blue just to visit. One time he called me on my birthday and asked if I knew who he was. It sounded like Mick but he wasn’t calling from a number that I recognized so I thought, “Who else might sound like Mick?” So I said, “Keith?” You can imagine how well that went over. 😊 Thankfully, he forgave me. I’m going to miss those calls. They always brightened my day!! My prayers are with Janice and all of the family. I love you all! Jessica

We've raised a beautiful family with 2 beautiful and sweet grandchildren. Rest easy Mick. It has been a pleasure and honor to be a part of your family. I am so glad I got to know you over the past 8-9 years.
We will never run out of "mick story time" anytime soon. You made us laugh and love with the energy you shared to those around you. Even when you had a few touch and go moments under surgery, you still laughed and joked through it.
You are for sure a TOUGH DUDE ! Tell the family hi up there and try and find some Rush's, they've got some jokes too.
